  1. Old rich white men like... Tim Scott or Jennifer Carroll or Allen West or how about.. screw it... I could do this all day long. I'll just fall back to the greatest black Republican that ever lived..
  2. Perhaps... or perhaps it's respecting thier traditions. I don;t really care. His religion or skin color are not what I have problems with. It's his policys and his approach to implimenting them that i have issue with.
  3. That arguement does not fly. The Catholics have no birth right rules/laws. Muslim's do. According to Islamic Law, once a Muslim always a Muslim. To turn your back on Islam warrants Death. Muslims who follow Islamic law see Obama as a non-practicing Muslim as he was born to a Muslim father. His father did infact become an Athiest and if he had lived in a country under Islamic law they would have killed him for it.
  4. Small Pox. The settlers gave them blankets they knew were infected with Small Pox. Europeans learned that from the Muslims. All those dusty old history books are a treasure trove of useless information like that. If we were to give the land back to it's rightful owners... who would we give it too? The remnants of the tribes that were her when the settlers came or the ghost of the previous tribes they took it from?
  5. but.. He is in fact of Kenyan and Muslim descent. His father was from Kenya and he was a Muslim. So, calling him a Kenyan or a non-practicing Muslim would be correct. According to Islamic law, children born to Islamic fathers are defacto Muslim. A rose is a rose. It doesn't make one racist to to note someone's heritage or the laws of thier familys faith. It becomes racists or bigoted when you note them with negative conitations. It's the thought that counts. Also... thinking all conservatives are racists, homophobic and/or bigoted makes someone racist, homophobic and/or bigoted. TheGimp: that depends on who you talk to. I have black conservative friends who deny that Obama is black. I also have black friends who wont acknowledge that he is white. My closest and best friends... never talk about his skin color. We mostly talk about how inept he is. Great speaker... he can talk all day long... but he is ineffectual as a leader and inept at policy.
  6. That would be too cool. My grand father was a tank commander... Daralton Bissett. Trying to remember what division he was in... I know he was at D-Day and the Battle of the Budlge. I soppose I can call him this weekend and ask him some questions... I'm the only person (other than the men he served with) that he has ever talked to about the War. on a side note.. some years ago I was going through the basement of a house a lived in. I found bundle of old news papers... it was every issue of Stars and Stripes from the beggining of the war to the end. I donated most of them to the local VFW post... but there was duplicates... and I still have those at my grandpa's. The coolest moment of my life was reading one and realizing I ws reading an inspiring story of valor... about my Grand Father.
  7. So.. if anyone want a good laugh... go check out DAilyKos... they are flipping out.
  8. I know what you meant in the original setance... but those words... There are many of us who are not willing to sit back and wait for them to kill us. Fighting back is the right course.
  9. Do you know what unit he was in? My grand father served under Patton in the 3rd from North Africa to the end of the war.
  10. Thats funny... but it should say "East China Sea"
  11. I have to agree too. I'd like to see full disclosure if nothing else. As much as Democrats tried to make a big deal about full disclosure in thise last election cycle I don't see them allowing full disclosure to pass though. Let me rephrase that.. I don't think Soros and the Unions would let it happen.
  12. OK, I have some more numbers... according to NBC... 113 Tea Party canidates won thier elections and are going to Washington to serve in the House starting next year. wanted to add... I'm pretty sure that number is a combination of the state and federal elections.
  13. Your video link doesn't work. Is that the video of her saying that Seperation of Church and State is not in the Constitution? I am going to assume it is because that seems to be the thing I remember people laughing about and calling her ignorant about. What I find so funny about that, is that serperation of church and state is NOT in the constitution. Not expressed in that way at least. It wasn't until 1947 that the Supreme Court ruled that the Establishment clause and the Free Exorcise clause amount to that seperation.
  14. Just wanted to point out... G.W. had support from both sides if the aisle when he asked Congress to let him go to War. He also had a U.N. ratified international treaty and 17 broken U.N. resolutions giving him legal authority to go to war. I always find it kind of funny when people try to paint G.W. as some kind of war criminal for starting the Iraq war when from an international stand point it was most likely the most legal war we have ever been in.
  15. Well.. Wilson should have been shot as a traitor for creating the Federal Reserve but thats another kettle of fish. but as to actual mistakes... Eisenhower ® was the first President to send troops into Vietnam but only as advisors to the French... Kennedy (D) was the first President to send any real number of troops into Vietnam. The first Gulf War was UN action... Bush Sr. sent those troops in but not until the UN sanctioned it and pulled them out when he was told to by the UN. btw... I have major problems with people who take issue with dropping the a-bomb on Japan. They attacked us because we opposed the whole sale slaughter of innocents in China. Why do people always forget that Japan was murdering every man woman and child in China? 20 Million Civillians slaughtered in China by the Japanese. Biological experiments on civilians the Nazi's thought were extreme...
  16. I just don't see where that distinction was made. "the tea party and other extremists" seems to be calling all members of the Tea Party extremists. and yes, I do fit in with the Tea Party pretty well. We read the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Federalist papers. We read whats on the paper and not imaginary stuff between the lines. and we tend to hold people accountalbe for what they say/write/do rather than what we think they might have said/wrote/done. Well, I'm done kicking that dead horse. Anyone else watch Obama's press conferance today? I'm not holding my breath for bi-partizen anything... He still seems to think that cooperation is achieved by sticking to your guns and blaming everyone else for the problems around you.
  17. Sure. though I would have prefered "I'm sorry I worded it so poorly." or "I'm sorry I used a blanket statement." so, let me rephrase.... I'm sorry I was offended by your blanket insult to all Tea party members when I should have been able to read your mind and know you meant only the fringe elements of the Tea party.
  18. I respond in kind... you are sorry I was offended by what you said... I am sorry you worded it in a way that a member of the Tea Party would be offended by. See? you took no responsibility for offending and I take none for being offended.
  19. 13 in the National elections... they won on the state level too... still trying to find that number... Phee... I'm sorry that you worded it so poorly...
  20. You made no distiction between the fringe and the main body of the Tea Party. You used a blanket statement. I know you know how to craft a sentance. I also know you know exactly what I am finding offense with. What I am seeing is you crafting a sentance that used blanket statements that insulted me and rather than apoligize for a porely crafted opening statement you are trying to pretend that you wrote a completly different sentance and I am the one being difficult. and while you are painting the Tea Party as extremists... the general voting populace tends to disagree with you. Do you even know how many Tea Party canidates won yesterday?
  21. Phee... you called the Tea party extremists and accused them of bigotry. You said NOTHING of bigotry, intolerance or extremism on the left. You clearly aimed it all at the right. You used a really big brush. As usual. And as usuall you are now trying to re-word what you said and change the meaning of what you said so as not to have to take ownership of your own bigotry and intollerance.
  22. thats a pretty good idea. never going to happen, but a good idea none the less. We shall see in the coming months what this election has wrought. (Did I spell that right?) Harry Reid didn't give me much hope for cooperation in his victory speech last night... He flat out said he was not going to work with the Republicans on any common ground. The President is sopposed to give a speech today at 1pm about the election results... lets see if he can do the right thing and reach across the aisle or if he sticks to his guns.
  23. (In other words, I hope that the economic policies work well; without the necessity for bigotry and intolerance that the tea party and other extremists have shown.) There are your words again. Re-read them.
  24. Thats exactly why I stopped being a Democrat so many years ago. Che Guevara being a hero of the left was the last straw for me.
