  1. I had an awesome time. It was great to see everyone! I didnt think the opening band was to bad. Covenant just blew my mind thoe. I danced most of the night as usual. How come people dont open more up and dance at these shows?

I just don't like dancing. I've never felt comfortable with the whole process and whatnot. That's just me though.

I still cannot get that new song out of my head. Hope someone's got it on YouTube.

  2. Its kind of an unbalanced argument. Reminds me of the Cleopatra vs. Projekt debates back in the 90s.

As for current topic, because of the unbalance, I cannot choose just one, simply because I like many from both labels. But if practicality is at stake, I would say Metropolis, if only because of them, we here in the US get alot of our musicaql fixes we otherwise wouldn't be able to.

  3. Get a good sound system for the dance floor area, and then TURN THE FRACKIN' MUSIC DOWN IN THE BAR AREA!!! The main reason I haven't gone since February, and don't really plan to go in the near future, is the music in the area where people are supposed to be able to order drinks and talk was so loud it hurt my ears, and I had a sore throat the next day from screaming all night.

Indeed, never have been able to order from the bar without this problem.

Otherwise, Oh where do I begin?

Lighting is terrible there, always has been, but you often cannot see where you are walking, and trip over people and things. Not saying much brighter, but a solidly consistent low lit lighting system would go a long way.

The bathrooms are fucking disgusting. Shit always smeared over the walls and never any soap or toilet paper. Guess it would be too much to ask for some one to go in there in the middle of the night, even just once would make a huge difference, and attempt to clean up and restock stuff in there whilst doing so.

The uber drama and fighting. I have been to City Club a few number of times, and huge fights have broken out that the bouncers have not been able to get under control for at least 5 minutes, and I have seriously considered never returning to City Club ever again, then I change my mind and give it another chance and lo and behold another fight breaks out. Is it seriously to much to ask for bouncers to don their jobs and for people to leave their drama at home? Also the handful of scary and shady people that go to City have always been a problem for me. So I often stay home.

City also never has had a decent ventilation system, and that is always a problem. Temperature is always out of control and more often matches the temp outside instead of matching something you can stand to be in for more than 10-15 minutes at a time.

The music selection has never really bothered me, but I guess I can understand where people are coming from. Clubs, goth or not, always cater to their music selection to what's popular, and that can really get under their gears. But the music is really the least of the places problems.

  4. I had a blast yesterday! A lot of people were there and fun things to see!

lol. Adam West was charging $60! I had heard that there was a line at his table, but once people heard about the fee the line dissipated. lol. I did get a peek at him, he was wearing sunglasses. Marina Sirtis looked good, so did Linda Blair. But I did not want to pay that much money just to say hi to them.

I kinda felt bad for Todd Bridges because no one was at his table. Well, when I walked by there wasn't anyone there...maybe later on he had some fans stop by.

Yeah I ended up going yesterday as well. Adam West was charging $60, but at least he was friendly with and talking to the people who walked up to his table, Marina Sirtis' table was right next to his, usually celebs who charge that much are complete and total assholes.

Met a bunch of people, the wrestlers were all really nice, met more of them now than I ever got to when I was into it. And all the celebs were kind enough to retake pictures if they were messed up.

According to their myspace page it's

Wish it wasn't so damn early on a Friday. No way can I make that drive and be there in time to see them. They couldn't have picked a worse time for those of us who aren't right there in town :(

Oh thanks for the info. I agree that's too damn early. Hopefully being at work won't be a factor.

  6. Michigan needs Waffle House, and Sheetz. Yes.

Riiiight down the street from me. I'd feel better, then.

\Too true. We could use Wawa as well.

I am glad however to have Denny's, the last remaining Bennigan's, a buttload of Coney Islands, and Del Taco.

Home for me is also Bubble Island and Pinball Pete's in Ann Arbor and WHFR in Dearborn.

  7. I heard about the movie, while browsing on IMDb, wish more of the independent stuff would get a wider release. I guess we will have to wait for DVD for this.

However, MI does get a fair share of good stuff. Saw The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo a couple weeks ago at the Maple Art, and that was a TERRIFIC film. Was hoping we'd get after.life w/ Christina Ricci, Liam Neeson, and Justin Long, but no dice on that either.
