The Crow showing with Creator James O'Barr in Attendance

Recommended Posts

The Grand Rapids Comic-Con and the Wealthy Theatre are combining their forces to screen a series of films the weekend of comic-con. These films will be shown on the big screen at the Wealthy and then will be followed with a talk from a celebrity that actually had involvement in the same movie. This is a golden opportunity to enjoy a favorite film and then go in depth on the behind the scenes action behind that movie!

The Wealthy Theatre is located at 1130 Wealthy St. SE in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The film for the evening of Friday, November 21, will be the 1994 action/fantasy The Crow, starring Brandon Lee, Ernie Hudson, Rochelle Davis, and Michael Wincott.

Synopsis: A poetic guitarist Eric Draven is brought
back to life by a crow a year after he and his fiancée are murdered. The crow guides him through the land of the living, and leads him to his killers. One by one, Eric gives these thugs a taste of their own medicine. However their leader Top-Dollar, a world-class crime lord who will dispatch his enemies with a Japanese sword and joke about it later, will soon learn the legend of the crow and the secret to the vigilante’s invincibility.

The speaker will be James O’Barr, the writer of the original graphic novel and the creator of The Crow universe. James will give a short planned presentation about the film as well as the upcoming 2015 re-make (in which he is the creative consultant), which will be followed by a question and answer session from the audience.

Schedule:

9 pm–showing of The Crow with short intro by James O’Barr
