Depending on if my wife leaves or not I would be down...since moving down here, the only people i know are my wife and her family, so if she goes I'll be alone in the big city...sounds dangerous

This sounds manageable. However, I know very little about after hours hang outs. My knowledge is basically limited to City Club and the dining area of the Motor City Casino...Aniiki has a lot of casino credits

Besides, Corvus still owes me a drink :hrhr:

That's true, I do for her generosity with the UK trip. At this point, you've probably racked up a couple drinks in interest!

Never been to the moto city casino.  Been to the MGM one.  Not a big gambler.  Play poker a lot in the past , but that at least has a decent amount of skill attached to it as opposed to random number generation.

That's what's so cool about the Motor City Casino, it is very laid back. We usually enter through the hotel lobby area (which was opened to the public last time I was there) then head down to the restaurants to hang out. I've only been to the gambling side one time as a semi tour.

The first time I was invited to the food court, we all hung out, ate and talked for about 2 hours. I did notice some groups socializing in the hotel lobby area. The Motor City Casino was more like a friend lounge than a structured environment. However, I haven't been there in about a year so it may have changed by now...not sure.

This is one reason I miss the Renaissance Center. Before GM dominated it, we used to hang out at the movie theater, the lounge, the shopping area and the multiple food courts.

I think it's a good idea. It's really important that there is a unified community here in this local scene. Many in this scene don't realize just how good they have it here. Community gives people something to do as well as a support network. Too many times, people feel alienated from this particularly in the goth scene. For awhile, we did goth dining out once a month, movie night, etc. People also came out and supported more of the local entertainers as well. I will do whatever I can to help out.

I just moved to Novi, MI from central PA and I don't know anyone here other than my girlfriend.  I would be interested in meeting new people and going to events.  I used to help with an event in State College PA called Catharsis.  It was held in a hookah lounge once a month.
