Assemblage 23

ASSEMBLAGE 23 and Tom Shear – there's no need to introduce the man behind this figurehead of electronic music. For almost ten years, he has provided the scene with a string of hits.

On tour in support of the new CD "Compass" an album demands a closer look. It is not just his sixth studio album – "Compass" is a lot more than that. This album is the uncompromising presentation of Tom Shear's biggest strength, the composition of dreamingly beautiful ballads, relentlessly catchy tunes and club hits. He is a real master of his trade, and on this newest work, he has achieved the feat of sticking to the sound all ASSEMBLAGE 23 fans love and hope for, while still creating a powerful and exiting new vibe. Listening to this album and discovering "Compass" in its whole glory is pure fun; it fascinates and electrifies.

All this combined makes sure that "Compass" is not just a treat for Shear's big fan base but will also excite all those who have not yet discovered the fascination of ASSEMBLAGE 23. The single "Spark" has already proven a strong and promising harbinger – but who would have thought that Tom Shear might surpass this benchmark in such a glorious way. For all those who love straightforward but also sophisticated and substantial electronic music, this album is not to be missed, while the live show will certainly not dissapoint.

Angel Theory

Australia's Angel Theory deliver a lesson in electronic purity, as it delivers original dancefloor songs with slow moods, dark melodies and genuine depth of character. The bands sounds is bereft of electro-cliches, with the mechanical loops confronting emotional vocals, transporting the listener to a new world full of dance grooves and melancholy atmospheres. Angel Theory's innovative sound will appeal to the wider community of electro fans - from Haujobb to Covenant with influences extending to Nine Inch Nails, Gridlock and VNV Nation.

from the a23 site and Tom Shear...

Assemblage 23 Launches Video Tour Diary

Just a note to let everyone know that as a part of our upcoming U.S. Tour, we've launched our own YouTube channel, A23CompassTour2010. This will be the area where we'll upload an "almost realtime" video tour diary that will not only keep fans up on the latest news regarding the tour, but it'll also give a peek behind the scenes of the tour and let fans see some aspects of the tour they are rarely privy to. The first tour diary entry is now posted and ready for viewing. It consists of info on how you can follow the progress of the tour on the various social media sites as well as a montage of footage shot on our recent European tour. Because YouTube can occasionally get a bit trigger happy with what it incorrectly perceives to be copyright violations (the first tour diary entry was blocked initially because it contains an A23 song), I will also be posting the tour diary entries on our MySpace.
