'Cos I used to feel like this... a lot of the time... for a long time.

And this one reminds me of a dear friend who has gone to join the ancestors (RIP Kenny):

Ricki Lee Jones- Livin' It Up

Eddie's got one crazy eye/that turns him into a cartoon when a pretty girl comes by

and there's nothin' here to do anymore

he sits on the stoop all day/like there's something he's waiting for

Cunt-finger Louie picks up Eddie in the alley

he's got all those guys with him/from that town where they all look like Frankie Valli

they speak fluently blonde/from her legs to her cigarette

and Louie told Eddie that he'd fix him up

but he ain't come back yet

well, you know

It's more trouble than it's worth

it's more trouble than it's worth

Oh Wild and the Only ones

Tell him where you are -

Oh Wild and the Only ones

Tell him where you are

Tell him where you are

Zero quit school/and she lost her job again

and then her boyfriend beat her up/and now he won't let her in

so she's walking by his joint/in a black and blue dress

she looks at Louie who elbows Eddie who says

"don't tell me, lemme guess."

It's more trouble than it's worth

he's more trouble than he's worth

Oh Wild and the Only ones

Tell him where you are -

Oh Wild and the Only ones

Tell him where you are

Well at first when it was this way

when they're the only ones

and you've got all these ideas

you never tell to anyone

there are always magnets

pulling each of you there

living every story you'd dare

to be the only ones

the only ones...

Oh, who are living it up

oh yeah, we're living it up

oh yeah, we'll be living it up

oh yeah, we're living it up

gotta be living it up

oh yeah, we're living it up (x5)

Louie and Eddie found a reason then and there

carried her over the bridges like fluttering pages they didn't care

in the terminal where dreams/let so many tickets through

when strangers look in faces/and see somebody there they knew

you might meet me tomorrow/as all the lights are blooming green

and you're feeling a little lonely/a little sad, a little mean

remember a place/inside of that hotel

where you could do anything you want to do

you couldn't tell

If it's more trouble than it's worth

ah, this is more trouble than it's worth

Oh Wild and the Only ones

tell him where you are -

Oh Wild and the Only ones

I'm waiting you could

tell him where you are -

Oh Wild and the Only ones

why don't you tell him where you are?

This song based off of a poem has no happy ending. It is tragic and sad after our hero and his love bid what they thought were temporary farewells.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2CFM4ev-g8

THE wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees,

The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas,

The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor,

And the highwayman came riding—

Riding—riding—

The highwayman came riding, up to the old inn-door.

II

He'd a French cocked-hat on his forehead, a bunch of lace at his chin,

A coat of the claret velvet, and breeches of brown doe-skin;

They fitted with never a wrinkle: his boots were up to the thigh!

And he rode with a jewelled twinkle,

His pistol butts a-twinkle,

His rapier hilt a-twinkle, under the jewelled sky.

III

Over the cobbles he clattered and clashed in the dark inn-yard,

And he tapped with his whip on the shutters, but all was locked and barred;

He whistled a tune to the window, and who should be waiting there

But the landlord's black-eyed daughter,

Bess, the landlord's daughter,

Plaiting a dark red love-knot into her long black hair.

IV

And dark in the dark old inn-yard a stable-wicket creaked

Where Tim the ostler listened; his face was white and peaked;

His eyes were hollows of madness, his hair like mouldy hay,

But he loved the landlord's daughter,

The landlord's red-lipped daughter,

Dumb as a dog he listened, and he heard the robber say—

V

"One kiss, my bonny sweetheart, I'm after a prize to-night,

But I shall be back with the yellow gold before the morning light;

Yet, if they press me sharply, and harry me through the day,

Then look for me by moonlight,

Watch for me by moonlight,

I'll come to thee by moonlight, though hell should bar the way."

VI

He rose upright in the stirrups; he scarce could reach her hand,

But she loosened her hair i' the casement! His face burnt like a brand

As the black cascade of perfume came tumbling over his breast;

And he kissed its waves in the moonlight,

(Oh, sweet, black waves in the moonlight!)

Then he tugged at his rein in the moonliglt, and galloped away to the West.

PART TWO

I

He did not come in the dawning; he did not come at noon;

And out o' the tawny sunset, before the rise o' the moon,

When the road was a gypsy's ribbon, looping the purple moor,

A red-coat troop came marching—

Marching—marching—

King George's men came matching, up to the old inn-door.

II

They said no word to the landlord, they drank his ale instead,

But they gagged his daughter and bound her to the foot of her narrow bed;

Two of them knelt at her casement, with muskets at their side!

There was death at every window;

And hell at one dark window;

For Bess could see, through her casement, the road that he would ride.

III

They had tied her up to attention, with many a sniggering jest;

They had bound a musket beside her, with the barrel beneath her breast!

"Now, keep good watch!" and they kissed her.

She heard the dead man say—

Look for me by moonlight;

Watch for me by moonlight;

I'll come to thee by moonlight, though hell should bar the way!

IV

She twisted her hands behind her; but all the knots held good!

She writhed her hands till her fingers were wet with sweat or blood!

They stretched and strained in the darkness, and the hours crawled by like years,

Till, now, on the stroke of midnight,

Cold, on the stroke of midnight,

The tip of one finger touched it! The trigger at least was hers!

V

The tip of one finger touched it; she strove no more for the rest!

Up, she stood up to attention, with the barrel beneath her breast,

She would not risk their hearing; she would not strive again;

For the road lay bare in the moonlight;

Blank and bare in the moonlight;

And the blood of her veins in the moonlight throbbed to her love's refrain .

VI

Tlot-tlot; tlot-tlot! Had they heard it? The horse-hoofs ringing clear;

Tlot-tlot, tlot-tlot, in the distance? Were they deaf that they did not hear?

Down the ribbon of moonlight, over the brow of the hill,

The highwayman came riding,

Riding, riding!

The red-coats looked to their priming! She stood up, straight and still!

VII

Tlot-tlot, in the frosty silence! Tlot-tlot, in the echoing night!

Nearer he came and nearer! Her face was like a light!

Her eyes grew wide for a moment; she drew one last deep breath,

Then her finger moved in the moonlight,

Her musket shattered the moonlight,

Shattered her breast in the moonlight and warned him—with her death.

VIII

He turned; he spurred to the West; he did not know who stood

Bowed, with her head o'er the musket, drenched with her own red blood!

Not till the dawn he heard it, his face grew grey to hear

How Bess, the landlord's daughter,

The landlord's black-eyed daughter,

Had watched for her love in the moonlight, and died in the darkness there.

IX

Back, he spurred like a madman, shrieking a curse to the sky,

With the white road smoking behind him and his rapier brandished high!

Blood-red were his spurs i' the golden noon; wine-red was his velvet coat,

When they shot him down on the highway,

Down like a dog on the highway,

And he lay in his blood on the highway, with the bunch of lace at his throat.

* * * * * *

X

And still of a winter's night, they say, when the wind is in the trees,

When the moon is a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas,

When the road is a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor,

A highwayman comes riding—

Riding—riding—

A highwayman comes riding, up to the old inn-door.

XI

Over the cobbles he clatters and clangs in the dark inn-yard;

He taps with his whip on the shutters, but all is locked and barred;

He whistles a tune to the window, and who should be waiting there

But the landlord's black-eyed daughter,

Bess, the landlord's daughter,

Plaiting a dark red love-knot into her long black hair.

A farmer there lived in the north country,

a hey ho and me bonny o

And he had daughters one, two, three,

The swans swim so bonny o

These daughters they walked by the river's brim

a hey ho and me bonny o

The eldest pushed the youngest in

The swans swim so bonny o.

Oh sister, oh sister, pray lend me your hand

a hey ho and me bonny o

and I will give you house and land

The swans swim so bonny o

I'll give you neither hand nor glove

a hey ho and me bonny o

Unless you give me your own true love

The swans swim so bonny o.

Sometimes she sank, sometimes she swam

a hey ho and me bonny o

Until she came to a miller's dam

The swans swim so bonny o

The miller's daughter, dressed in red

a hey ho and me bonny o

She went for some water to make her bread

The swans swim so bonny o.

O father, o daddy, here swims a swan

a hey ho and me bonny o

It's very like a gentle woman

The swans swim so bonny o

They laid her on the bank to dry

a hey ho and me bonny o

There came a harper passing by

The swans swim so bonny o.

He made harp pins of her fingers fair

a hey ho and me bonny o

He made harp strings of her golden hair

The swans swim so bonny o

He made a harp of her breast bone

a hey ho and me bonny o

And straight it began to play alone

The swans swim so bonny o.

He brought it to her father's hall

a hey ho and me bonny o

And there was the court assembled all

The swans swim so bonny o

He laid the harp upon the stone

a hey ho and me bonny o

And straight it began to play alone

The swans swim so bonny o.

There does sit my father, the King

a hey ho and me bonny o

And yonder sits my mother the Queen

The swans swim so bonny o

And there does sit my brother Hugh

a hey ho and me bonny o

And by him William, sweet and true

The swans swim so bonny o.

And there does sit my false sister Anne

a hey ho and me bonny o

Who drowned me for the sake of a man

The swans swim so bonny o.

Wolfsheim - Kunstliche Welten.....

it means "artificial worlds" in english. :)

I come to you,

hold your hand.

Together we go through this wonderful land,

which I have invent for you,

with mathematical mind.

A miracle here,

A dream next to there.

In the moment just here, but then its gone.

I show you my face,

but you cant see me.

I know exactly, what you like.

I make a new magic world for you,

there is no rain falling.

There is your truth important.I show you mountains.

I show you lakes.

Here, you only need to see it with my own eyes and not to appreciate.

Never fear, you can go with me.

In a big universe.

All for you alone.

Here you can be yourself.

In neon-sunshine,

I catch your wishes.

Amazing Grace - Bag Pipe Version

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.

And Grace, my fears relieved.

How precious did that Grace appear

The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares

I have already come;

'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far

and Grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me.

His word my hope secures.

He will my shield and portion be,

As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,

And mortal life shall cease,

I shall possess within the veil,

A life of joy and peace.

When we've been here ten thousand years

Bright shining as the sun.

We've no less days to sing God's praise

Than when we've first begun.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.

I see alot of suprising stuff here.

I guess I'm traditional. No Metal songs or anything else have ever burst me into tears. However, electronic music has, and they are really depressing. There is 3 songs. Sorry if you actually tear up, you're officially warned in advance.

VNV Nation - Left Behind:

So afraid

To open your eyes

You know too well

That which awaits you

Something undefined

There in the halflight

The demon without

The demon inside

To plague and torment you

Feeling so sure

Feeling so uncertain

Something is wrong

Everyone's gone

You have been left behind

Everyone left the demon inside

Do you still hear the laughter

So hard to describe

And never forget

Faces that haunt you

Awake or asleep

I know you can't tell

Unable to sleep

Unable to fight

Unwilling to wake

To open your eyes

Face your oppressor

Sill you go on

Convinced it will end

Can you remember

A day when it was not

Not like this

Unsure of yourself

Unsure of your thoughts

Unable to know

Of what you think is right or wrong

Still you go on

Convinced it will end

But someone pushes

A blade through your mind

There on the edge

No one will find you

So hearing them laugh

No light at the end for you

Why is everything wrong

Here I am

Here I am

With these words

Trying to say

Something I can't

Something I can't tell you

Nothing is wrong

The demons they have left you

You were not left behind

You were not left behind

So open your eyes

So open your eyes

Unable to sleep

Unable to fight

Unwilling to wake

Please open your eyes

Here I stand

Unable to tell you

I'm trying to say

Nothing is wrong

Please open your eyes

Nothing is wrong

You were not left behind

Wolfsheim - Annie:

and you're sitting in your room

enjoying entertainment

and you're watching tv

colours bright and so enchanting

you couldn't be near her

wouldn't hear what annie says

when annie's sad

you couldn't be near her

wouldn't hear what annie says

and your waiting for your daily thrill impatiently ...

to collect it for your private horror show

and you're watching moving shadows live instead of you ... and you ...

you don't know that annie's living next to you

jesus christ we love you so

since we saw your tv-show

suicidal tendencies, but no will to interfere

feel it coming over you ... indifference ... indifference ...

choosing channels watching news

ignoring annie's point of view

you couldn't be near her

wouldn't hear what annie says

when annie's sad

you couldn't be near her

wouldn't hear what annie says

you couldn't be near her

wouldn't hear when annie laughs ... when annie laughs

you couldn't be hear her

wouldn't feel that annie ... annie ... annie loves

And last but not least:

Frozen Plasma - A Second of Life

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqRqb1QQR4U

Alive without breath

As cold as death

A heart as a stone

Never felt alone

She never felt alone

No feelings inside

Her lips never lied

No worries in mind

Not one of the kind

She was not one of the kind

'''She can’t be seen

Can’t be felt

Can’t be heard

Can’t be smelt'''

Never said any word

Flew away like a bird

Just a second of life

Until her time arrived

She left this world

Took her flight

Towards the rays of light

She cast warm sand

Over deep rivers

And withered land

She held my hand

My eyes grew dim

We watch death walk in

Where will she go?

Hang your prayers in the winds of the night

Who better to pen a dirge than us Irishes...

Owain Phyfe performing She Moved Through The Fair/Once I had a Sweetheart/Morrisons' Jig. Lot's of people do these songs, but this rendition is stirring to say the least.

(get your own lyrics, they're easy to find and this is going to be a long post.)

The Wailing Jenny's performing "The Parting Glass"

(lyrics in link)

A Scottish tune by The Clancy Brothers. MacPherson's Lament. You might relate to this more if you were a slightly insane and die hard musician person.

(rough lyrics in link)

Thomas Tallis's 40 Part Motet- Spem in Alium. This actually requires 80 people to perform. I'm sure not many can listen to all 10 minutes of this. Sometimes I let this play on repeat for several hours. I have only twice in my life EVAR met anyone who also listens to polyphonic Choir; my best friend from back home, and my friend Angela who is a real-life tolkien elf and has a degree in singing polyphony. This one doesn't even need lyrics to be emotional.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G-_73qnTRo&feature=related

Lyrics are at the bottom of the notes, but they're very offensive because it's inconsiderate to believe in something that someone else does not believe in. Your eyes will prolly incinerate in your head if you read them.

Loreena McKennitt - Dante's prayer

When the dark wood fell before me

And all the paths were overgrown

When the priests of pride say there is no other way

I tilled the sorrows of stone

I did not believe because I could not see

Though you came to me in the night

When the dawn seemed forever lost

You showed me your love in the light of the stars

Chorus:

Cast your eyes on the ocean

Cast your soul to the sea

When the dark night seems endless

Please remember me

Then the mountain rose before me

By the deep well of desire

From the fountain of forgiveness

Beyond the ice and the fire

Chorus

Though we share this humble path, alone

How fragile is the heart

Oh give these clay feet wings to fly

To touch the face of the stars

Breathe life into this feeble heart

Lift this mortal veil of fear

Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears

We'll rise above these earthly cares

Chorus

Please remember me

Please remember me, ...

(Im crying right now, its all it takes.....)

Funker Vogt - Child Soldier

His parents died, shot in the head

Killed by his unit alone at night

They took the kid and gave him drugs

They gave him guns, taught him to kill

Bridge:

He`s still a child

But now a soldier

Can`t comprehend

What`s going on

Chorus:

The gun`s weight`s almost too heavy for his tiny little hands

All he learned has no more value and he has lost all his friends

Only soldiers now surround him, kids who used to be his pals

But the past is now forgotten, he just went straight to hell

His mind is drugged, no feelings left

A perfect killer, who obeys?

Now he`s killing the innocent

To get more orphans for recruitment

I agree with mad world, so I wont repost the lyrics, also...

Demon Hunter- Deteriorate.

Time has had it's way with me.

My broken tired hands cant build a thing.

The wires that have held me still embedded now in flesh to find my will.

The idle of my days is won, the empty I have fed has made me numb,

Despite what you will find in me.

The failures of my past just swirl beneath.

[Pre-chorus:]

I need a heart that carries on through the pain

When the walls start collapsing again.

Give me a soul that never ceases to follow,

Despite the infection within

[Chorus:]

Our careless feet leaving trails

Neverminding the fragile dirt we all end in.

Our careless feet leaving trails

Neverminding the fragile dirt we all end in.

This is where I find my fall the cares that held me alive don't work at all.

And every step away from here is closer to the plague I hold so dear.

I need a heart that carries on through the pain,

When the walls start collapsing again.

Give me a soul that never ceases to follow despite the infection within

Awaiting my end breathing in the day that finds me new.

Redemption begins bleeding out the flaws in place of you.

Awaiting my end breathing in the day that finds me new.

Redemption begins Redemption Begins.

[Chorus]
