  1. I made my first wire tree. I think I did pretty well making this Cherry Blossom Bonsai. Next I need to mount it on a rock or crystal. I learned a lot from working on it so I think I improve on my design and make ever better trees. I am now starting on a thicker Juniper Bonsai style that I will be mounting on an antique typewriter to make a cool steampunk piece.
  2. I've decided to try a new project I had an idea for. I'm now thinking that I am making a lot more work for myself than I had anticipated.
  3. I would suggest taking an aspirin. It should help with the back and chest pain a bit and it is proven to help with possible heart issues as well.

  5. I beginning to really hate how this whole thing is being handled. They talk and talk about extending the stay at home orders but don't confirm anything until the last minute. There are so many people who value making money over people's lives that it's ridiculous.
  6. Happy birthday. Maybe you can have a late party once things calm down in the world and we can be around other people again.

  8. I've been thinking of making a copper plague doctor mask for awhile. There would be a lot involved in the build though to make it safe and wearable. I have talked to a few leather workers who have made them though. You can even find stencils online to create your own.
  9. Thanks man. I'll keep that in mind. We have been talking with a group in the Michigan Steampunk Society known as The Fireball Federation. We haven't been able to lock anything down though and it is a drive for them so they might decide not to do it. We will keep you posted though.
  10. If it helps with the decision, the zoo wedding isn't until next year so there is plenty of time to get clothing.
  11. I was able to actually forge the shape of the Seax in pretty well and just had to do some basic cleanup on it. The hunting knife took more of a spoon shape when I was forging it so the profile of it was done mainly with the file. I guess it depends on skill level and what you are trying to make. I am not consistent enough with my forging so I get the bonus of developing my file skills at the same time. lol
  12. Pretty much. I roughed out the basic shape with the hammer and anvil and then refined the shape with a hand file. Sadly I do not have a shop or power tools so I am pure rustic style and elbow grease.
  13. I watch Forged in Fire all the time. I'm still trying to teach myself how to make Damascus steel. Right now it's a crap shoot on if my welds will hold or not in the center of my billet and the edges seem to blow apart on me so I spend more time trimming off unwelded bits to try to get to the good steel. I'll get it at some point. Let me know if you want any railroad spike knives though because I seem to be decent at that for now. lol
  14. I think I need an actual workshop. I really need power tools for some of my projects but I don't have a place to store them and setting them up and tearing them down every time is a real pain as well as a lot of wasted time. I also can't do any work when it's not nice outside so rain, snow, cold or wind can make it so I am unable to do anything.
