  1. "Super Sad True Love Story" by Gary Shteyngart. Not really a love story as much as it is a poignant political/economic philosophy statement. The 1984/Brave New World of our generation. Totally blew me away, couldn't put it down. Go read it NOW!
  2. I have three holes in each ear lobe and the upper cartilage pierced on my left ear. I also have my nose, lip (center with a stud), naval, and nipples pierced. Last night I added a VCH piercing to the mix and I'm having a hard time not stopping to go look at how freakin' cute it is every few minutes. I'm planning on getting four dermal implants, two on each side, about an inch apart and inch below my collar bones. Hopefully by the end of summer! I haven't ever had a reason to take a peircing out and let the hole close up. I almost took my lip out at one point but I'm glad I kept it and went back to stabbing more body parts! Yay stabbing body parts!
  3. I learned 3 things from some of my favorite movies that I consider very important for survival. 1- If you're not sure what it is, just shoot it in the head. Twice if possible. If you have no gun, familiarize yourself with large portable blunt objects. 2- If there is a crazy person/people or a supernatural force to be dealt with, it's going to get the virgin. Probably easily, probably first, and most definitely in a manner quite gruesome. 3- Do **NOT** Fuck with Samuel L Jackson.
  4. Just discovered a great new author! Tony Vigorito is the shiznitz! I was all loving on Christopher Moore books until I realized I've now read them all, and Amazon recommended I read "Just a couple of days" and "Nine kinds of Naked" by Vigorito and now I'm passing that recommendation on to you. Also, picked up a lovely little children's book "Ten Little Zombies" at Urban Outfitters the other day, and squealed in delight the whole way through. Enjoy these literary marvels
  5. I need access to a room/building with tile/wood/etc. flooring. I have no money, so free is of course the best option, but I can get donations from participants to make an offer to pay owner of said space at least something. My only requirements are -somewhere accessible, reasonably close to major roadways, preferably freeways -must be able to classify as "detroit metro area" (so that people are most likely to live close by) -room must be large... dance studios with time available in one of their rooms would be ideal. other rooms need to be 30 ft+ in at least one dimension. (we used to rehearse at the ritz in warren on the dance floor and that was pretty ok) -not carpet, not bare cement -owners/managers/patrons/occupants are OK with 5-20 young adult women running around said space in skimpy workout attire (i'm thinking this one isn't likely to be an issue LOL but of course negates most churches) Some things that would be awesome, but of course I cant be too picky about... -a mirrored or semi-mirrored wall (again the ritz was awesome for this) -smooth, clean floor (again dance studios would be awesome for sprung floors) -access to some sort of sound producing device Ideally this space would be available some random night of the week between 7:30 and perhaps 9ish. However I really can't be picky and I would try in any way to accommodate to mornings or saturdays or sundays, etc. Some of you may have heard of The Dance Dolls... part of Draconian Productions branched off to do specifically dance/burlesque. In order to attract more dancers I'm going to start running "rehearsal" as more of a workshop. No one is required to perform the routines learned, but choreography will be taught after a brief workout/warmup and we will focus on the ability to carry yourself in a performance, learning some sexy moves, gaining some confidence and flexibility and sexy attitude. Rehearsal space has become an issue as of late, so I'm just looking for any suggestions/ideas/direction anyone can give... I've tried to contact *some* studios to make an arrangement but if you have any ideas please let me know, all positive suggestions are welcome. thnx<3
  6. i get all my extensions and hair supplies at Sun Beauty Supply just north of frazho on gratiot in roseville, in the plaza with the Kroger, by the hardware store and the Subway they tend to have funky colors in the kanekalon, and the selection rotates. you are likely to find purple, orange, red (the basics) if you are interested in getting a really wide arrange of colors, visit www.ikickshins.net, they sell the kanekalon as well as pretty much every other hair type in tons of colors as well as very well priced dreads/braids/crylox, pretty much everything you could want for your hair.
  7. WOW series of dumbness caused sluagh686 and i to be even later than we thought we'd be but we still got there around 7:30... didn't happen to see anyone around the fountain, and i missed rev and OMG entirely (which is odd, you guys are normally easy to spot in all your awesome hair-ness) day TWO starts as i eat this chicken and get on the road (probably trying to sunbathe in my neon green ed hardy bikini most of the afternoon, changin to booty shorts/crop top at some point in the evening... i'm not wearing anything too cool and my hair is just down and straight nuthin fancy so it might not be easy to spot me but if u see me or sluagh686 come up and say hi!)
  8. i dont think The Prodigy and Skinny Puppy make the same kind of music... but i'm mad excited to be going to see The Prodigy tomorrow! wooooot!
  9. i usually park around city club, the blocks surrounding that intersection and i have no problem finding free parking (after all, meters go off at 6 saturday and they're off sunday and monday) i take the people mover if i'm too tired, otherwise it's not a far walk at all DO NOT park on cobo roof dear god you cannot rest in your car without cops/security hassling you, it's crazy expensive, and it's just as much of a walk as less expensive parking spaces u just gotta look
  10. i'd probly be up for this if it was less than $10 cover... i understand cool costume contest and such but is there even a performance? $10 seems kinda steep for a hangout dealy...
  11. NOTE: UPDATED Super Awesome People Day is Saturday! All weekend long we will be around the fountain! Inform all your super awesome friends/acquaintances! 10 days till DEMF
  12. i'm sad to hear about cover girl testing on animals that stinks. i have a problem finding foundation that doesn't make me itch like mad. pretty much anything "hypoallergenic" i have a major reaction to, neutrogena as well... on the hunt once again.... my mom swears by clinique i'm thinking i'll have to check it out...
  13. happy birthday hun hee!! it's my birthday too! yay! awesome people were born on may 8th
  14. we have some of the "two knotty boys showing you the ropes" manuals and they rock! get soft nylon rope (as in soft to the touch, rope you wouldn't mind rubbing against ur skin for a few hours) you can get it at home depot/lowes. about an inch in diameter seems to be a bit more effective, the thinner stuff is easier to learn with but if you're trying to actually cover and/or work with long lengths we like the thicker stuff
  15. sluagh686 and i live in howell right by US-23 but it's still a good 45 min trek for us to get to flint... good luck working on the club!
  16. i get the same thing a lot altho it's usually more of a "wow april i don't think i've ever seen you wear clothes before" sorry i missed again this week i will be there next week for my bday party! everyone had better be there! (and rather than buying me enough birthday drinks to give me alcohol poisoning buy drinks for each other)
  17. i'm also having a bday party at my rents in chesterfield on the 9th. huge house no one is allowed to smoke in (but big patio out back to do so) cool people should pm me and come over (friends of sluagh686 are of course welcome as well)
  18. i'm a big fan of house parties/gettogethers and sluagh686 and i live in howell we're not too far from fenton (at least not so far as most others) and smoke in trixies is kind of proportional to bodies occupying the place (at least it was when i used to go there) no offense at all rev i love it as well but to be fair yes if it's packed it can get smoky. my mom used to accuse me of sneaking into bars or smoking myself.... tuesday night open mic used to get a little out of hand...
  19. i usually find that if i buy tickets from the venue's own box office it's common for me to still have to pay a $2 or $3 service fee. not saying that always happens (there have been plenty of times it doesn't) but it still has happened. i've been able to buy the discounted weekend passes for demf (previous years) at record time and i think i recall paying a $2 service fee (still less than the $5 you get online) then again i bought combichrist tickets in 2007 from noir and i cannot recall any service fees usually if i pay a service fee "in person" it's less than the online fee... however they do seem to have a chance of rearing their ugly fee heads... that being said no i don't know that you can necessarily get tix at st andrews. have you called and checked?
  20. apparently sluagh686 and i are attending if anything just to see the opener... i'm not too cool to still enjoy some vnv tho thank god i dont go to necto anymore so i'm not as sick of beloved
