  1. An unusual cross between David Bowie, Adam Ant, and Billy Idol, really. There's some military inspiration, but mostly glam-rock with elements of New Wave and Punk. I like teasing my hair real big, I've been bleaching the hell out of it to the point that it's nearly white. I love tall boots, victorian jackets, tight black pants, elegant white shirts, etc. I also never leave the house without eyeliner.
  2. This. http://www.virginblak.com/1qo-shirring-turtleneck-hoodies.html And quite a few clothes from that site.
  3. The soundtrack of my reaction to opening my email this morning and finding out that finally I'm getting a story published.
  4. I'm really stoked for the upcoming adaptation of The Tempest. It looks beyond fabulous.
  5. Watched Dreams in the Witch's House last night. I thought it was immensely entertaining and the references to the Miskatonic University and the Necronomicon filled my inner nerd with such glee, my only problem with the film was that it just wasn't scary enough. It's definitely a lot of fun with great atmosphere and no limit on gross-out blood sequences. I'm still waiting on the definitive Lovecraft film though.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siRzVkcBEu0 Definitely one of my favorite groups
  7. Barbara Steele. In just about every movie she was ever in.
  8. "Beginning of the End" by London After Midnight.
  9. Milla Jovovich is just badass in general. Though I love the Alice-character, her role as the battered girlfriend plotting revenge in the film .45 is much stronger and more powerful role. "You think that just because you have a dick, means you're the one fucking me? Nah-uh. Sometimes I like to shove my fingers up their ass to make sure they know they're the ones getting fucked." Also, she designed most of her own costumes for the Resident Evil films, and did most of her own stunts.
  10. Begotten isn't necessarily disturbing in a violent, gory way, though there is plenty of that. It's more in the subtleties of the film. There's scarcely any music, and just little clicks, strange noises, and no dialogue. You're left to interpret the images for yourself. The result is an experience which only grows more uncomfortable and more unsettling as the film goes on. By the time you reach the end, you're actually relieved it's over. Violence and gore isn't all that disturbing. Food coloring and cairo syrup from the prop department. It's too cheap and too easy.
  11. "Remember days of color bright remember how we saw when summer set us free from the fading time of all the while and no one knows they all pretend bitter... so bitter and no one sees the tears in your eyes Bitter.. so bittersweet the sun was warmer held us in its arms that's when we saw beauty of the pain that falls inside." -The Echoing Green "Bittersweet"
  12. This is both good and bad. Good, because my vanity and ego adore having plenty of photos taken of me. Bad, because my perceived reality is distorted enough as is without the interference of others.
  13. Current location? Utica/Sterling Heights Where from? Originally from a creepy town called Live Oak, in a bizarre state called Florida Gender? Male Work? Sears at Lakeside Mall School? Finished my first year of college. Kids? Not really. Married? It's not legal yet. Single? Nope. I have an incredible partner. Hobbies? Writing, practicing chaos magick in my room, singing loudly, dancing, reading horror stories, drawing unusual objects, studying philosophy. How Did You Find DGN? Google. Other Stuff? I'm an aspiring creator of the macabre and the fantastic. In other words, a pretentious unpublished prick who likes coming off as a spooky Byronesque horror-meister.
  14. Ha. That's just a disclaimer I have on all my profiles. It gives me something to fall back on any time I say something that offends someone regarding a band they like or a film they enjoy.

  15. This is possibly my favorite of me. I love the way this picture is lit. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=471980289538&set=a.85143329538.79984.785499538
  16. "Be yourself. Everyone else is taken." -Oscar Wilde Personally, the term "Goth" has only applied in considerably recent years, when really the movement can be traced as far back as the Romantic Poets, most notably Lord Byron. Just be yourself. Wear what makes you comfortable. Listen to the music you like. I'm just here to socialize with people of like-minded interests. "Goth" is just a handy umbrella to find such people and compare notes. Not everyone is going to lie in their room reading Lovecraft by candlelight like I do, I know I'm certainly not going to go to a club and rave to big beats and heavy screaming. Different strokes for different folks. We do what we want.
  17. Actually, I think nearly every song from this album is incredibly political. There's a social awareness to it, and a call to action.
  18. I always felt that "Somebody to Love," and "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane had an incredibly gothic feel to them. The building sense of longing, paranoia, and an altered state of consciousness, coupled with Grace Slick's haunting vocals...they're all elements that later came to be prevalent in the genre of Gothic-Rock.
