  1. This brought tears to my eyes. I am sure she was very comforted to have you there with her.
  2. Not exactly talent, but I got dumb tricks covered. I can rotate my tongue 360, make the end do the clover thing, roll it AND use it as a straw. I can do the 'invisible lip string' thing like this: I can belly roll up and down. I can also do the "cross my index and middle finger and ring and pinky finger on one hand without using the other hand to help" thing but I never knew it was anything special! I can imitate the full barnyard of animal sounds. Cow, goat, sheep, chicken, pig, horse, donkey... oh, and a seagull too. I can give the middle toe. ...I spent a lot of time alone as a kid.
  3. I think whatever thought I was gonna post about seems suddenly less important. Hope your mom gets better soon, and stays better, too.
  4. someone's mother? lol, yikes. well, i guess it's all a matter of perspective and, heh, the title of this thread. preferences are fine... it just makes me a little sad sometimes to see how bent out of shape people can get about the height thing. among other things. and anyway, MHO is that pretty girls who are taller are more "striking" (my grandmother would use that word) than if they're shorter. despite thinking that about others, i slouched for years and it only hurt my back and crapped out my mood. not worth it. you're pretty and tall - nothing to hate on there.
  5. No hatin on being tall! Own it! A guy closer to your height just makes a lot of things... easier. I don't argue with physics.
  6. ........do your best, universe.

  7. Hmm... I think the cultural mecca that is Battle Creek has people itching to meet fellow-minded folks. Even if that means necroposting.
  8. i took two years of latin, three years of french, and three years of german. the german's really the only thing that stuck, and with that, i usually need to "refresh" what i know before i attempt to write or speak it. poorly. i think it's mostly in my brains still, but needs to be shaken loose. the other two languages, well, they're gone. (i won't say "dead" - har.) waking up my german is on my list of things i'd like to do... you know, when i find time. sigh. i'd like to be more fluent in german rather than learning a new language. well, something like swedish would be neat... but only after the german. then maybe russian.
  9. take it from a vegetarian - this would likely be the way to go!!
  10. i think i need to get to work on a time machine.
  11. Ha! Well, best of luck, I think the subject matter & a "why" question lend themselves to that...
  12. Don't they all, though? Do you have a link to anything online relating to said beatings? I haven't been able to get much out of the peeps I know that should know about this - it's just been grumbled "hm, interesting," which isn't very helpful. Go on... why?
