  1. smiley face alert :)

  2. We are all suffering the effects of eating too much processed food anyway. Gelatin isn't needed. yukky! I want to eat as close to organic, basic, real, tasty non-genetically-modified food as I can get.
  3. That actually may be worth a try. Hell, try all the ERs around you! Our healthcare system makes me so pissed off. I can't afford the meds I need half the time either, have to suffer and budget them, saving them only for the worst times. I hope you find a solution soon. (((hugs)))
  4. I can't take it. It makes me physically sick after a couple hours - massive migraine and nausea kick in unless I stay in air conditioning. If it weren't so humid it'd be easier for me to stand but this is hell, ugh. I'm thankful I have working AC and my power is on!
  5. Seems to me it's pretty much the same but things used to be more hidden and swept under the rug. Now it's all out in the open and blasted in our faces 24/7 through the media.
  6. Can't speak for the rest of the world but for me personally things have gotten better overall over my lifetime. Organic food - yummy. Fast food has gotten yukky though. As I recall when I was a kid it used to taste like actual food. Lifespans are longer and most people look younger and feel healthier longer. Meds available now to treat my migraines that were not in existence years ago - I'd literally rather shoot myself in the head than to go back to that constant pain. Technology is awesome and getting moreso all the time. Good old days - naaah. I'll take my present day life rather than longing for the past.
  7. Yay! Troy's going! I am not sure but there is a small possibility I may make it out. I'd love to see you all again
  8. (From an article in last week's business insider, link below to read more) "By now, many of you may have heard about iPhone tracking and recording your location data, but is there anything else being extracted from cell phones without our knowledge? If you're a Michigan state resident, the answer is an alarming "maybe". Michigan's police department have been using handheld gadgets called "extraction devices" for nearly three years now, which can take every lick of data from a mobile phone. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Michigan claims that these DEDs (data extraction devices) are being used to secretly copy cell phone data during routine traffic stops. Seems like a serious violation to the 4th Amendment, right? If the search and seizure law prohibits police officers from checking your trunk after getting pulled over, how could stealing your cell phone data be an exception? Do they really need to investigate your photos and texts? Don't worry, the ACLU are on the case (despite being unsuccessful). The extractors are called UFEDs—Universal Forensic Extraction Devices—which are made and sold to law enforcement by Cellebrite. The data stealer can swipe everything in under two minutes, including text messages, photos, videos, passwords and even GPS data, from over 3,000 different mobile devices. It can even take encrypted data, and no password can hold it back. However, the Michigan State Police department have recently issued a statement to defend their use of this hacking technology. In it, they claim that the DEDs are only used if a search warrant is obtained, or if the person gives consent to have his/her phone searched. Also, they state that only specialty teams use them on criminal cases, not during routine traffic stops. And the kicker—the devices are commercially available." 9. argh. Just hearing the theme song again was enough to suck me back in. Now I've got to find the time to dive in, catch up on past episodes fast.
